WORKERS’ ETHICAL AND SOCIAL ROLE |
|
| |
 |
The Social Responsibility Management System and the work conditions in Danper Trujillo S.A.C. are based on a clear human capital management policy, in line with the essential
principles stated in the company’s mission and vision statements.
The main objective of the company’s Social Responsibility Program is to provide
the workers preferred attention in connection with health and
welfare issues, in order to achieve a higher degree of loyalty from
the company staff within a harmonious social atmosphere based on fair and honorable
treatment. Human Capital Health Management encompasses both medical
and psychological aspects, and Human Capital Welfare Management
provides for the optimization of the infrastructure and labor conditions in the
workplace and the enhancement of the staff´s personal fulfillment beyond the workplace.

A highly remarkable issue within the Medical Services mentioned
above is that DANPER has a Health Center that provides first rate
medical service to all its workers and their families, by carrying out campaigns
for the prevention of health problems, diagnosis and follow up of hidden pathologies
(through the use of an ultrasound scan system).

Danper’s Social Responsibility policy provides for the company’s
sustainable development in accordance with its organizational culture. It thus becomes
an indispensable element in the global strategy framework, covering the three basic
action dimensions: economical balance, social balance and environmental balance. |
|
|
Taking into account its commitment to continue developing skills and abilities in
its workers and their families, DANPER has established a strategic
alliance with Utah State University (an American University) to foster innovative
business initiatives in entrepreneurial low-income people by providing them training
during 8 months (in three stages), teaching them how to prepare Business Plans (investment
projects). These Business Plans are submitted to a delegation of the Utah State University, who after a technical evaluation chooses the best projects in terms
of feasibility and profitability, and awards them the financing for their projects.

Project: “Internet Café”
This Project has directly benefitted the Trujillo – Solano families, of Alejandro Trujillo Torres, a Danper worker, and his cousin Victor
Solano. They are now running
their own business of an Internet café and call shop which is located in La Esperanza
District, Trujillo Province.
This project indirectly benefits the community of La Esperanza for whom access to
this service was difficult as they can´t afford to have internet connection at home.
It is for this reason that this project enables people to have affordable access
to internet and in addition make phone calls. To date, the project has generated
enough income to the Trujillo – Solano families to be able to pay back 22% of the
financing obtained.
