|
A moment of great excitement for the people from Huancaquito Bajo, village that belongs to the province of Virú, was lived this Saturday when the bakery “Mi Barrio Progresa” SAC was inaugurated, not only because it fulfilled the dream of the inhabitants for having access to fresh bread, but because this microbusiness is one of the projects that Danper has been developing in partnership with the University of UTAH (USA), being this the first one to start its productive life. The ceremony had as sponsors the General Manager of Danper, Mrs Rosario Bazán, who promoted the project from its early stages, sure of the potential that it will have, not only in the progress of the members of the company but also of the community, and the General Manager of Fito Pan Mr César Merino Vereau, who offered its generous support to the brand-new businesspeople in their stage of training and practice. |

| "This effort is very valuable, said Mrs. Bazán, because it shows
what we can achieve joining efforts and always looking for development. In this
case, they are benefiting a group of inhabitants from Huancaquito Bajo who from
the beginning have set their hearts, hard work, have been persistent throughout
the process that has not been short, but have been clear about their aim, they
have been able to reach, and now they see reality what seemed to be a dream, and
we are sure that they are going to go very far, because they are combative and
enterprising people, and people like that are those who make great our country".

The brand-new businesspeople are Martha De la Cruz, Maria Elena Macalapú
Mendoza, Bernardita Azucena Fernandez, Luisa Orfelinda Castillo Villajulca,
Santa Margarita Gómez Narro, Toribio Castañeda Neyra, Catalina Zúñiga from
Trujillo. All of them live in the area. After the long way covered they showed
to be extremely satisfied with the support received, and are convinced of the
success that their work will have. "There were moments when we almost lost our
hopes, because difficulties arised, but thanks to the support that we have
received we were able to carry on and today our bakery is a reality, we are
producing for our community and for others as well, and bread runs out every day
". This project was born in 2007, as part of the first experience of Danper, promoting not only microcredits that generate a socioeconomic opportunity in areas of very low resources, but offering at the same time a training process for nearly two years. Institutions as AMA and UPAO were involved in this process, providing the inhabitants the knowledge to enable them to undertake with success and security such a project, which involves to take on the commitment of a loan and to keep going a company, through their effort and perseverance, which can change the lives of not only their families but of all their community. |
